Electronic / Art Pop
A producer and vocalist operating at the intersection of NYC's downtown club scene and the European festival circuit.
VOICE
Maya Pruitt
Music Editor — Frieze
Started writing songs in the back of a Bushwick warehouse where she was bartending in 2019. The early demos circulated on a private SoundCloud for nearly two years — invite-only, no artwork, names changed weekly — before any of them surfaced under her real name.
Her 2023 debut Anti-Anthem on Mexican Summer caused a quiet panic among A&Rs and made her one of the more in-demand crossover bookings between New York's downtown circuit and the European festival main stages. Pitchfork called it "the rare debut that arrives fully formed and refuses to explain itself."
Roster handles her European and UK touring; her US team is separate. Performs with a four-piece live band — no backing tracks, no click — and has built the kind of festival reputation that gets her booked at Sónar and Primavera but also Saint Vitus on a Tuesday.
