Built his first synthesizer from a kit at thirteen and has been refusing to use software ever since. Operates from a converted barn an hour outside Oslo, where he's recorded every release of the past decade — and has yet to install internet.

The 2022 LP Halvtone on Kompakt sold out its first pressing in 36 hours; the 2024 follow-up Skala on Mute went deeper, longer, slower, and sold out in two days. Performs rarely — eight to ten dates a year by his own choice — and only in seated venues with proper sound.

Roster handles all bookings on a curated basis. Travels with three flight cases, no laptop, and a single tour manager — no support act, no after-show, no promoter dinner he hasn't approved at least a month in advance.
