Ambient / Electronica
A composer and DJ whose sets move fluidly between ambient decompression and late-night peak-hour techno.
VOICE
Margaux Renard
Curator — Q-O2 Brussels
Studied composition at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels before getting drawn into Belgium's experimental electronics scene through Les Ateliers Claus. Built her early reputation on a rotating ambient set she'd play at Café Modèle on Tuesday afternoons — no fee, no flyer, three regulars and a dog.
Now holds a long-running ambient residency at Café OTO in London, a Sunday afternoon series that has become a quiet pilgrimage destination. Her 2024 album Demi-Lumière on Erased Tapes was longlisted for the Belgian Music Industry Awards and reviewed by Pitchfork as "a record that grows in proportion to how seriously you take it."
Roster represents her exclusively. Plays both ambient sets (no drums, no kick) and 5 AM techno marathons under the same name — the trick, she says, is knowing which one the room actually needs, and she is famously unwilling to make that call before soundcheck.
